Your Year In Trains 2024

I contributed to Trainline’s “Your Year in Trains”, a large cross-functional project that ran over several months and brought together teams from across the business. Inspired by the popularity of Spotify Wrapped, many brands have attempted their own annual round-ups, but we wanted to give ours a Trainline feel, something grounded in sustainability and the real ways people travel.

Giving the Data a Personality

To bring the experience to life, we created a central Earth character, supported by a cast of leaf-shaped personalities that each reflect a different customer type. The leaves were a subtle nod to the project’s environmental focus, helping to tie the storytelling back to sustainability while keeping everything playful and characterful.

The project analysed all completed journeys from January 2024 to December 2024, turning them into unexpected stats, fun insights, and the little travel habits you didn’t realise you had. The final experience was shaped to feel lighthearted, friendly, and relatable.
